what's happening is because the NHL was all locked out last year, they never got around to signing free agents, meaning there's twice as many free agents available (most teams only had 5-10 players under contract). The new bargaining agreement also allowed teams (like my Rangers) to unload ridiculously large contracts (like Bobby Holik), meaning there's a crap load of available players. Frankly, I've been trying to keep up with it, but come opening night I'm going to need a scorecard, a bulletin board, and a running news ticker to tell me who's playing.
I agree on the scorecard and such. It's gonna be one hell of a night!
